  • Hi Doug,

Nice of you to put yourself forward as a prospective friend, a little bit more info about myself, I am a 57 year old grandfather of 5, with another due in February, working for a major manufacturing company in Chesterfield,( although I am a born & bred Yorkshireman living in Sheffield ), since converting to SolidCam in 2003, ( from Autocad ) I am now a SolidWoks Geek, I find that I am learning new things about the system almost on a daily basis, even though I use only a fraction of it's full capability.

My area of use is mainly in bulding models of drilling tools for the oil industry, I start with a basic revolve boss base, representing the stock bar, then build different configurations using cuts, sweeps revolved cuts etc: going through each process of manufacture until I produce the finished component.

Each of these configurations is then used to produce a stage drawing for each individual stage of manufacture, and is also used in conjunction with Can software to produce CNC programs at each stage using the previous configuration as the stock.
  • Hi Doug,

I appreciate the interest, but my client needs someone on a permanent basis.

Can I contact you in the event that we have a need for project work?

    Paul
