Losses in DC Machine

Posted on February 3, 2020 at 8:49am 0 Comments

Pragmatically, no machine is 100 % efficient and some losses are always take place during energy conversion process. The losses raise the temperature of the machine and efficiency of the machine gets lowered. In DC machine the energy loss takes place in the form of heat energy. The losses occurs in the armature and field of the DC machine.…

What is meaning of 5P20 for Current Transformer?

Posted on February 3, 2020 at 8:30am 0 Comments

P stands for protection class CT. The protection class CT has more knee point voltage than the metering class CT. The protection class CT is more bulky because it has more core material. The fault current can be 10 times or 20 times more than the rated primary current of CT. 5 P20 CT means the CT will not saturate if the 20 times more current of the CT rated current flows through the CT. The composite error of the CT at 20 times current will be +/- 5 %. The…

Windage loss in Electric Machines

Posted on January 25, 2020 at 3:06am 0 Comments

When any rotating machine rotates, the air surrounding to the rotor offer resistance and the air resistance try to slow down the rotational force. The extra energy an electrical machine takes from the power source to overcome this opposition. The loss caused by the air friction between rotor and surrounding air is called windage loss.

Difference between AC and DC Relay

Posted on January 25, 2020 at 3:00am 0 Comments

What is a relay Coil?  The relay  coil has many turns of copper wire wound around a bobbin in which iron core is situated. The resistance of the coil depends on the length of the wire and cross-sectional area of wire. When the  voltage is applied across the coil, the coil set up a magnetic field which …

(mrsstellaabudheir200@gmail.com ) for the full details.

Have a nice day

Thanks God bless.

Stella.
