A free professional 3D CAD System

This is the 'absolutely' free personal version of PTC's "CoCreate Modeling" and called "CoCreate Modeling Personal Edition" It is not a time limited shareware or time-limited subscription. It is a complete freeware and based on the same superior modeling technology "Explicit Modeling". like the commercial version "CoCreate Modeling"

It works with an active internet connection, but the user needs to be in the internet only once every 72 hours . This means just go for 1 second to internet and then you don't need any internet access more in the next 72 hours.

The strong Explicit modeling engine is the same like the commercial version, therefore it is really a good opportunity.

Rayka,
Thanks for sharing the information of this free 3D software. I have just downloaded and started using. The video tutorials are extremely helpful. The software is also user friendly. It would be a great aid for playing with our concepts at home and also entering design contests. I started my adventure in CAD with Autocad R9 and over the years have finally settled on Solidworks. My buddy Joe and I once built a program from Excel & Autocad using DDE and parametric scripting to created automated building structures in 1995. 3D CAD has come a long way since and gets better everyday. It is a great time to be an engineer and play with all the tools technology has to offer as I enjoy building automated manufacturing lines for a living.

The nternational forum of "CoCreate Modeling PE" users can be found at

http://apps.cocreate.com/OneSpaceModelingPE/Secure/Forum/category-v...

There are many specialists from the vendor at that forum.

If you still have the problems, contact me at info@mip-group.com. I can send you the installation files.

I found this blog courtesy of an random email this morning. I have been looking for a program I could use at home for small personal projects. I haven't been able to justify the cost of any of the real 3-D cad programs for my wants.
I signed up with PTC today and followed through the process. I get to the page where you register and are supposed to be able to download the software, but I never get a link to do so. Has anyone else run into this issue? I did get an email to say that I was signed up.

Rayka,

This looks pretty good for a non-CAD proficient person such as me. I hesitate to criticize anything free but the lack of a tutorial is a bit of a hindrance. I did a Limewire search for tutorials but no luck. Do you know if a tutorial is available other than the training modules.

Cheers

Erik
