Google dips its toes into wind energy with offshore grid investment

Google, Inc. has decided to use its considerable financial clout to fund a proposed 350-mile underwater electric cable off the east coast of the United States that could ultimately form the backbone of a grid carrying power from future offshore wind turbines.
