Does anyone think its possible to take a sheet of stainless, 6 inches wide by .015" thick, weld it into a cylinder 4 feet in diameter. and then form it into a flat wave type washer? I need a wave type washer with a 48 inch OD, 36" ID. Very difficult to find strip or sheet that wide to cut out my washer but if I could form a cylinder into a flat washer then OD would not be limited by what width sheet I could purchase and I would have all that waste cutting out my washer from that sheet. Anyone think this is possible? I've watched a lot of deep drawing videos and you can make metal form in some amazing ways. Would this be one of them?
