2D drawing means two Dimensional geometry which can be expressed in terms of length and height but have no depth on flat planes. The well known example of 2D drawing is shadow. While 3D drawings or 3 dimensional drawings are described with length, height and depth also. So, 2D measurement are described in cm2 whereas 3D measurement are described as cm3.
