Robert Davies left a comment for Basker
"Yes it would but normally this is not done for structural applications. Sometimes it is added to fiber on the ID of a composite bearing as an example."

  • Hi Robert, This is Fatima from Calgary , Canada, I have extensively worked on thermoplastics and thermoplastic elastomer compounding. This kind of activity indeed is in one way making composite as we have to some time reinforce the mechanical and chemical properties of the main substrain and polymer basis matrix with some kinds of Minerals and inorganic additives. As I have practically worked in this area maybe it would be interesting for you.
  • Hi,
I have a question regarding the composite. If PTFE (Polutetra fluro ethylene) filled with some portion of either Carbon, Bronze, Glass or Graphite. Will this be a composite?
