I sympathize with your concern that your grandchildren are not able to bring their books home to study. Reading from a screen is a very poor substitute for a written page, although I suspect that later generations of people will adapt to it. I also agree that the quality of automated software tools leaves something to be desired, especially for something as complex as teaching.
