Student Loan forgiveness petition

There is an online petition to reconstruct the current student loan repayment system. These changes entitled,"The Student Loan Fairness Act (H.R. 1330)" would create a new “10-10” standard for student loan repayment, in which an individual would be required to make ten years of payments at 10% of their discretionary income, after which, their remaining student loan debt would be forgiven. Further, this legislation would: • ensure low interest rates; • allow those eligible to convert their…See More

Power supply products online search…easy or difficult?

As an electrical engineer, there are certain things that I look for when searching for a product online. It does not matter if the product is a component or power supply, the first thing I seek are specifications or data/technical sheets.I wondered how easy is it to find power product information. Inquisitively, I put some companies to the test to simply find a power supply. In this trial, I did not use any particular parameters just random selection.…See More

Video: Digital Systems Series part V -The XNOR Gate

Part five of the basics in Digital Systems series explains the Exclusive Nor  “XNOR” gate, its meaning and how it used in Boolean algebra. The fundamentals to Digital Systems relates to 1′s and 0′s (binary numbers). Binary logic consists of binary values and logical operations. Letters of the alphabet designates the ‘A’, ‘B’, ‘C’, ‘X’ and ‘Y’ variables. This series shows how binary numbers, truth tables, Boolean equations, Karnaugh maps and timing diagrams are used to communication within…See More

Frequent engineers/designers mistakes specifying power products

With power supplies and DMMs, the most common mistake is failing to take an organized approach to the selection process. Although parameters such as accuracy, resolution, and sensitivity are critical to these product selections, aspects like reading rates, specialized functions, and productivity enhancements must also be considered, especially if the product is intended for production testing applications. Also, certain features can help overcome external noise problems that would otherwise…See More

"I hate to nitpick, but what you are showing in the graphic is an 'Exclusive NOR' or XNOR gate. Remove the 'floating arch' on the left and you'll change the XNOR to a NOR gate."

Update: Student loan forgiveness for Engineers

Posted on January 31, 2013 at 11:11am 0 Comments

Don’t despair! We are getting close to a loan program that will help all engineers. Hold on to your hats kids.

I went online to pay my student loan bill and observed that my loan service provider recently added the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program to its loan forgiveness list. What does this mean? This means slowly but surely, Congress, whom has…

As a college student, I worked with various pieces of lab equipment depending upon the facet of engineering being studied. The one thing I remember was that most of the equipment was antiquated and outdated. Thus, faulty and poor readings or output signals were produced. In one particular lab, we used the HP 54600B 100 MHz along with the Wavetek 100 MHz synthesized arbitrary waveform generator model 395 and the Agilent 33120A 16 Mhz function/arbitrary waveform generator…
