Coin being shrunk - plasma formed as work coil disintegrates

A US Kennedy half dollar being shrunk to less than the diameter of a quarter. In this shot, the 10-turn magnet wire work coil has just exploded from outwardly-directed magnetic forces. The coin simultaneously shrinks. Coil fragments reach hypersonic velocity within 25 usec.
