Hi everyone, my name is Ross McNeilage and I am in Melbourne Australia. I am interested in seeing where VAWT technology is at because I have designed a new type of vertical axis wind turbine. At this stage I have copywrited it because it is the design, not the function, that is original compared to anything I can find around the world in patent and design searches.

If it is not too much trouble could you folks throw links to all the weird deigns that you my have seen at me, so I can see if I am safe to proceed to design registration and building a proof of concept for this thing.

p.s.

The attached link is not me, but I was amazed at the simplicity of the solution it offered to an old problem.
I submit it to all FYI:

That was really path breaking
Yes and so simple. I hope his patent attorney is tenacious
I don't know if this helps you, but there are some real weird presentations:

Don't ask me about their efficiencies - personally I think most of it to be junk, but this is only my humble opinion.

yes I agree. but there is nothing here like mine. I thank you for the info. Once I get mine built I will show you the data projections.

Ross,

We have a concept that we will be testing in the next 2 weeks. At this point, it is being kept (somewhat) secret. But, once the patent applications have been filed, my clients should allow me to show everyone.

I like the variable speed drive - it offers what you get with a belt drive, but (I believe) higher efficiencies.

Thanks Allen, good luck with your app filing. My wind turbine is unique in its design, what it looks like, not what it does. So I dont know if the rules are different where you are (where are you?) but for me either copywriting the design (which I have done) and/or registering the design is actually safer, quicker, simpler and cheaper than patenting it.
I look forward to getting my idea through proof of concept and data analysis.
Cheers

Hi Alan. How did the test go. I hope, in the spirit of great minds think alike, that your patent design does not resemble mine. How did the tests go??

Also have a look at the MYT engine and the Di Pietro engine ( www.engineair.com.au ) for internal combustion and air driven engines of much higher efficiency. I met Angelo Di Pietro the other day at Going Green expo in Melbourne. He is a straight shooter type of guy. I was there representing www.zeostone.com.au (try no-cement concrete)!
The inventer of the MYT engine appears a little uhm.... eccentric/ egotistic
Hi ALLEN

How is the project going. Any pix yet? I am in the process of building a proof of concept for mine at present. Have you had a look at www.tesnic.com ? An interesting combination of a Darius blade and Tesla turbine.

Please keep us up to date with yours as it sounds exciting.

This is a CAD representation of the turbine. It is sized for 125kW and we are in the process of receiving quotations for the various components. The project is moving forward as we have a verbal order for the first 40 units.
