There are huge ammounts of video training courses available on Solid Mastermind.
There is a dedicated Surfacing course equivalent to a two day classroom training. All the sessions are at the link below:

You have to change the background in the template. (Default location: C:\Program Files\Solid Edge ST2\Template). Open the template file, do de change and save. Next time you create a new file, it will have your background.
There is at least one template for each environment: Assembly, part, sheet metal, weldment and draft.
does anyone know how to change the background color permanently, don't like the gray. i can change it when making a part but does not stay when new part is started.
