I provide engineering support for screw machine tooling and rotary broaching tools. Our latest series of adjustment free rotary broaching tooling is popular on swiss type CNC machines for making hex and square holes in precision parts.

I came into the picture at about the same time as CNC. The repeatability of the machines still amaze me. But the guys that can do it with manual machines are even more amazing.

This is very small group, are we the only one left in Group for machine tools and manufacturing processes - design, mechanical, and manufacturing engineers.

We at HTI were fabricating componnents for our dies applying .000050
tollerances, and all was done by hand using the magical skill with correct pressure to removed the extra material. We left for finished (.0001 Th.). In no time this manufacturing process was repeted with my eyes closed. It was done with diamond paper ($35 per sheet) attached to granite block.
Human hands are Machine tools!

I don't recomend for a substitute using mechanical machine tools.
