Here a video showing how to use the 3D models from http://portal-en.partcommunity.com in a design you can find other videos showing how easy it is to design using models from this partcommunity.com websites. In this websites you can download 3D models from many suppliers. Watch the video and try to design easily with the partcommunity.com parts.

Hello Friends, I am from India, and i am using Inventor from R6 2001, and now i am using 2009, and in 2010, they have made it very powerful tool in solid, sheetmetal, and same good in detailing. I like to know how is the demand for Inventor Designers in Texas Industry, compared to solidworks. I am into Automotive, Special Machines, Industrial Design and Industrial Equipments. Kindly help me in this information coz i am planing to relocate to US, thanks Mahen

So if you have budgeted for 5K for a system you should have no problem getting in under that. Also if you buy a custom built system you can add to it without too much worry about proprietary equipment causing issues.
