Four years ago. It's required to become an Alibre Consultant. I'm sure they've updated it since I took it, and even then it was a good test of your understanding of the basic workbenches and functionalities of Alibre.
I have had Alibre for almost a year now and feel I have a good handle on the interface. I am going to submit a design for the contest at the end of this month and I plan to take the Consultant test in the new year. I believe taking the test also gives you a listing on the Alibre website too.
It does just that. Once you pass the test you'll be listed as a certified consultant. It may drive some work your way as it has for me. Alibre is a top notch company to align yourself with and the best CAD value on the market today, in my humble opinion. I've been with them since '04 and am still amazed by what I can do with this program.
Steve, I have to agree. I have tried a few solid CAD and CAM design packages out there and Alibre seems to have very few glitches and the customer service is very good. I was a little disapointed with the version 11 when they took the old file sharing interface out and replaced it with the Alibre Vault. The Vault has some good points and I guess it's all what you get comfortable with. I have'nt had much time to play with the Vault, I hope they keep this system so I can get it all set up and get fully involved with it.
